Artist's Description
It was a nice cool summer evening when I was enjoying the sunset by the sea. As it hid beneath the horizon, the sky started glowing in bright orange-pink tones. It was magical. The original photo wasn't particularly spectacular, though. It was a bit too bland compared to what my eyes saw. Thankfully, post-processing managed to bring back the beautiful colours. A duck family passed by, and I was taking multiple frames, hoping that they will end up in a good position for my landscape. They indeed passed where I was hoping to. If only I had some food, I would have rewarded them for reading my mind.
About Maria Dimitrova
A nature photographer interested in the little details of wildlife, always getting upclose to investigate. However, sometimes colours stand in the way. Then I take one of my film cameras and let the shades of gray tell the story of light and shadow. A scientist by training and an artist in my free time, I combine both worlds to express my vision. I am based in Southern Finland and enjoy the variety and beauty of nature around me. I get my inspiration from my outdoor trips but also try to push my creative limits with still life.
